Eligibility Criteria
Note: Taking reference from RRB-Junior Engineer notification of 2024
Nationality/Citizenship
(i) A candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e)above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
(ii) A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination provisionally. However, the Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India has to be submitted during Document Verification failing which his/her candidature shall be rejected.
Age Limit: The lower and upper age limit indicated for a particular post(s) in the vacancy table will be reckoned as on 01.01.2019

- To provide relief to many candidates who may have exceeded the age limit and missed the opportunity to participate in railway recruitment due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been decided to grant one time age relaxation of 3 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit for these notified posts.

Note: (a) If a candidate is eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground, he/she will get the maximum amongst the relaxationsfor which he/she is eligible (not cumulative).
(b) SC, ST & OBC (NCL) candidates applying againstURvacancies willnot get any agerelaxation. (c) PwBD candidates applying against UR vacancies will be allowed age relaxation applicable for PwBD (UR) only - subjecttoconditions ofsuitability.
(d) Age relaxation to PwBD & ExSM candidates will be as given in Para 5.2 above.
5.3 Important: Candidates must note that the date of birth filled in their application should be the same as recorded in their Matriculation / SSLC or an equivalent certificate. No subsequent request for change in date of birth will be considered. Any difference in the date of birth will lead to disqualification of the candidate.
