The RRB (Railway Recruitment Board) conducts exams for the recruitment of Technicians across various railway zones in India. The RRB Technician exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the position of Technicians in various categories such as Technician Grade I (Signal) and Technician Grade III.

The selection process generally consists of two stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): This is the initial stage where candidates are tested on subjects like General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and Technical Subjects related to their field.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify the CBT are called for document verification where their eligibility and documents are verified. A medical examination follows for those who clear document verification.
The exam pattern for the CBT may vary, but it usually consists of objective type questions. The syllabus typically includes topics related to Mathematics, General Science, General Awareness, and subjects specific to the technician’s trade. Technicians play a crucial role in maintaining and operating various technical aspects of railway infrastructure and operations. Career growth opportunities exist through promotions and advancements within the railway organization.
